I'm on a second Floor flat, complained to my neighbor on the ground floor, that his light on the kitchen floor by ceiling fell limp against water damage. However, I could not find any water leak or overflow in my unit. Should I pay for the repairs?
Note: It has been weeks, all dry and good. Nobody wants to costly investigation (opening the walls) to determine the exact cause to be paid.

1.Guest- arlettde Nope. That has to be paid to the actual property management. You try to keep you, because water damage is an exclusion in the HO6. But it's not your responsibility. Dates and pipelines are not your problem. That's the beauty in a condominium. Tell him to F ** off
I'm assuming you're in the States .. Go to this website and scroll down to leaks and so ... If you have insurance, you are to know who is right.

- Rochester, NY City landlord, what I recommend ... I hope that your landlord does not make you responsible for this type of repair. That is his responsibility as regular maintenance. Have a chat with him and make sure you have a witness present when you talk to the guy on the case, that he take revenge by expelling try. If he still insist that you are responsible, you tell him that the code ENFORCEMENT BUREAU your town contact to him in order to get their attention. Since this is the last thing that landlords want to talk about (with the inspector in their property), I can assure you that you can understand that this is to encourage him to correct the direction.
