HVAC problem. can you help?

I have a high efficiency furnace stopped working recently. Its relatively new, so it's a bit unusual for them to stop only. The thermostat is on and controllable. I have the fan on, but it does not blow. Neither heat nor AC works when I turn it on. I checked the wiring, fuses, indicator, everything works fine, but the inducer motor does not simply want to be, responds the whole thing more. There are good supplies of gas and electricity. What could be wrong?

  • arlettde the flashing light is to be an error code and you always have the correct voltage to the device, it sounds like there is no authority there is no reset, and possibly a backup through the control board, if everything works, you look like you they have to say, I can only recommend to call a repair co.

  • Check the red wire on the thermostat. It is the power cord from the oven step down transformer.

It is this (24 volts) to send the fan on when it is set to "ON" or car when it gets hot enough, if called for heat, or when to cool it and the A/C kicks in first sentence.

The 24-volt also turns on the A/C unit, the contractor is to turn the A/C unit.

It also opens the gas valve and turns the ignition, if there is no pilot light. Then it's going to heat is hot enough to turn on the fan, and circulates warm air.

It could be a bad thermostat, a bad step down transformer, or loose cables to and from the thermostat. Each causes the problems you have. Source (s): Union electricians, Local 134, Chicago, IL HVAC thermostats and wiring experience, A/C units and furnaces.

  • Check to see the flashing light where the problem is. There should be a diagram that explains it. There should be voltage on the inductor, when the thermostat sends the heat signal. If not, go check the pressure sensor. If that is good you may have a bad control board. If there is tension, then the inducer motor is bad. They tend to last only a few years (just replaced).
