Gas Logs vs. wood stove?

My house is heated with a central electric and gas, but my bottom was a cave stove fireplace that has now old gas logs. Should I pull the old gas logs and make it back to a fireplace chimney or spend the 400 + money for new gas logs. I like to know woodburning but not whether it would be worth.
